Savana Flack and Riley Northway of Union Hill and Cheyenne McLemore of Eva helped Alabama Elite capture the national championship in the Youth Basketball of America’s 13-and-under girls’ division. The week-long tournament was played in the Orlando and Kissimmee areas in Florida.

All three Morgan county girls will attend Brewer this year and expect to play basketball and volleyball.

Alabama Elite is made up of players in the areas of Brewer, Bob Jones and Sparkman high schools and is based in Madison.

Maiya Rum of Alabama Elite earned most valuable player honors and Flack walked away with the hustle award for the tournament.

Making the all-tournament team were Northway and Meredith Lovelady.
